Axial Figures

Axial Figures is Wired Studio’s newest stage work.

Axial Figures is deeply rooted in choreography but has elements from both architecture and contemporary circus.

With a precise and minimalistic aesthetic Axial Figures explores the construction and deconstruction of systems – linear, as well as choreographic, geometric, and social.

The full volume of the stage is activated through a motorized scenography of aerial ropes allowing movements on the vertical plane as well as the horizontal.

5 performers create an ever-evolving 3D image of lines and geometric patterns by manipulating a scenography of aerial ropes from the ground and from the air, continuously challenging themselves, each other, and the outside eye on what is physically possible.

Axial Figures is a highly visual work, with graphic precision and a dynamic and impressive movement vocabulary.

Axial Figures premiered in November 2023 at Bora Bora in Aarhus, Denmark, and at Dansehallerne in Copenhagen.
